About Braces
Braces are dental appliances used to correct misaligned teeth. Traditional braces are made up of bands, stainless steel or ceramic brackets temporarily attached to the teeth, and the orthodontic wire that rests on them. The wire applies gentle, carefully controlled pressure on the teeth, which moves them slowly to the desired position in the mouth. In most cases, a permanent retainer wire is installed to keep teeth properly aligned once treatment is finished. The length of time for orthodontic treatment depends on how much tooth movement is needed to achieve your best possible smile.

For Children & TeensYour first orthodontic visit may be as early as age 8, but your dentist may recommend an orthodontic evaluation at any age if he/she finds misalignment that may require orthodontic treatment to correct. We recommend and use traditional braces, which allow for the most complete correction and your best possible smile.

For AdultsOrthodontic treatment is offered for adults who desire a significant improvement in the appearance, comfort or function of their teeth. Braces provide adults the same benefits that children receive. Orthodontic treatment may also be effective for adults suffering from jaw pain caused by TMJ (temporomandibular joint) problems.
